Vital Support Systems, Urbandale - February 10, 2010 - Vital Support Systems announced it has attained a competency in Data Management Solutions, Unified Communications and Virtualization as a Gold Certified Partner in the Microsoft Partner Program, recognizing Vital's expertise and impact in the technology marketplace. As a Gold Certified Partner, Vital Support Systems has demonstrated expertise with Microsoft technologies and a proven ability to meet customers' needs. Microsoft Gold Certified Partners receive benefits, including access, training and support, giving them a competitive advantage in the channel.Vital Support Systems, a leading provider of technology solutions for systems and networks, has six office locations in the Midwest including Urbandale and Cedar Rapids, IA; Omaha, NE; Kansas City, MO; and Moline and Rockford, IL.

Microsoft Competencies are designed to help differentiate a partner's capabilities with specific Microsoft technologies. Each Competency has a unique set of requirements and benefits, formulated to accurately represent the specific skills and services that partners bring to the technology industry. Within select Competencies, there are Specializations that focus on specific solution areas that recognize deeper expertise within that Competency.

The Data Management Solutions Competency is designed for partners that have proven their competency in end-to-end data-management reporting and analysis solutions based on Microsoft technologies, including Microsoft SQL Server, Windows Server, and Microsoft Office System client tools. These partners have also proven expertise in implementing solutions focused on delivering migration tools and services, database- administration tools and services, and performance tools using SQL Server technology.
"Through the Data Management Solutions Competency we can assist our industry partners' proficiency in helping them develop enterprise solutions that range from industry specific line of business applications to next generation Software + Services solutions and applications for the mobile workforce," said Mark Jewett, director of SQL Server marketing at Microsoft Corp. The Unified Communications Solutions Competency is intended for partners that have an aptitude for Microsoft Unified Communications technologies and have the ability to streamline communications between people and organizations, regardless of medium, platform, device, or location. Vital Support Systems demonstrated expertise in planning, deploying, and managing solutions for email and calendaring, presence and instant messaging (IM), unified messaging, and audio-video-Web conferencing; all using Microsoft Unified Communications technologies, including Microsoft Exchange Server and Microsoft Office Communications Server.

Lastly, Vital Support Systems achieved the virtualization competency. The Virtualization competency assures customers that Vital Support Systems has the skills to build a virtualization practice based on solutions like Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V technology, Microsoft System Center Virtual Machine Manager 2008, Microsoft application virtualization, Microsoft enterprise desktop virtualization, and Microsoft virtual desktop infrastructure.
